The San Francisco Bay Area Earthquakes
There is over one hour of spectacular footage from the 1989 San Francisco Bay area earthquake (Loma Prieta). Shot by the U.S. Geological Survey the tape is filled with eye witness interviews, B-roll, aerials, and the devastation. 10 pages of background material on earthquakes and the San Andreas Fault are included.

The Challenger Disaster
The tragic accident which killed the NASA Space Shuttle team is explained and explored; uses excellent interviews, B-roll and cutaways of the explosion and rescue attempts. This is an excellent way to have an entire class write a story based on this video “Press Conference”. Background print materials provided.

Documentary Production Labs
This practical, hands-on approach gives the teachers all of the materials necessary to produce a documentary as part of their journalism or mass communication classes. Each Laboratory/exercise package comes with the following materials so that a student or group of students can produce a documentary length program as part of their classes.
Background material on the subject; pamphlets, press releases. A two hour DVD or VHS videotape which contains sound interviews, B-roll material, sound effects, music, bars; tone, countdown, credits, etc. A completely edited DVD or VHS videotape which can be shown to students after they complete this project so that comparison can be made.
Great for independent studies, special projects, class exercises, and broadcast journalism classes where hands-on experience is necessary. Use your own editing system, if you have a 3/4" system you can dub up the VHS to the larger format.

Interviews with some of the leading geologists who studied Mount St. Helens. Spectacular B-roll of the actual eruption, scenes of the aftermath, the flooding and aerial footage of Mt. St. Helens which takes you along the Tutle River, into the crater and around the massive dome. Also contains extensive background material. This video does not contain a complete edited program.
